Get an access key
An access key lets your server download Moorhold. You create it yourself, in your Moorhold account.
Opening soon
Accounts are not open yet. We will open them once our data protection impact assessment is signed off. Until then, we can install Moorhold for you.
When it opens, you will create your account and your key at account.moorhold.dev (opening soon).
How it will work
Create your account
Give your email address and confirm it, then sign in with a passkey on your phone or computer.
Create a key
Name it after the server it is for. The key is shown once, on that page: copy it straight into your cloud config.
Use it
Your server uses the key when it installs and when it upgrades. Nothing else.
About the key
- It can only download Moorhold's software. It cannot read or change anything in your stack.
- We never send keys by email, and we store only a fingerprint of each key, so we cannot show it to you again. If you lose it, make a new one.
- You can revoke a key at any time. Keys expire after 12 months unless you renew them.
- Moorhold keeps running if a key is revoked or expires. There is no licence check that calls home.
- Every other password and key in your stack is generated on your server and never leaves it.
