Choose where to run Moorhold

Moorhold runs on a server you control. Your data stays there.

This describes how installing Moorhold yourself will work. Three pieces are still being built: the installer, the access keys and the first-run steps in the portal. Until they are ready, we install Moorhold for you: see Have us install it.

Each option runs the full Moorhold stack, with dashboards and the data catalogue, on one server with 32 GB of memory.

Prices are on-demand, monthly and exclude VAT, as published on 5 October 2026 (IONOS Cloud prices, Hetzner Cloud, AWS m7i.2xlarge pricing (Vantage)). Providers change their prices; check before you buy.

Your own servers, Kubernetes or another cloud (OVHcloud, Scaleway, UpCloud, Azure, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean): contact us. The same installer will work on any server that accepts a cloud-init script.

What you need before you start

  • An account with your chosen cloud provider.
  • A domain where you can add a DNS record, for example data.yourorg.example.
  • A Moorhold access key. See Get an access key.
  • About €30 to €45 a month for the server, on the EU providers above.
  • About 20 minutes, most of it waiting for the server to install itself.

You do not need to install anything on your own computer, use a command line, or handle any passwords other than your own admin password.
